Here's a little one that I did a few weeks ago and failed to post. I love the horse and carriages on Main Street. I hope to do many more of them.

I framed this painting for my client and delivered it to his home today. Kind of amazing to both of us was that the umbrellas in the painting matched his chair cover perfectly!! I couldn't have done this as well if I would have tried. When I painted it, it was for his bedroom, but he liked it so much, that he decided to hang it here where everyone can see it.
It's satisfying for me to see it hanging after so many hours working on it.

Marsh at Sunrise
20x16 oil on stretched canvas
$550 plus shipping
Finished this one today. I wish I could say that I did it on location, but being a midwesterner, I wasn't aware of low tide. When Dave and I were in Charleston in May, we drove around looking for marshes. We thought they must be having a drought because we couldn't find any water in the marshes. I used about 7 photos from different locations to paint this. I used the sky from one photo, the water from another, etc.

It was raining Monday afternoon when I was leaving my studio to go home. As I drove through downtown Greenville, I decided to park and walk around with my umbrella getting photos with my iphone of the reflections on the wet streets. This is a small 6x6 sketch done from one of the photos.

I've been painting for many, many years. All of my painting has been in a spare bedroom, basement or in the dining room, that was until last week. I am now renting a studio!!! I can't tell you how exciting that is for me to have a room with great north light. I can actually see what I am painting and don't have to use artificial light, even on a rainy day. It is located at White Whale Studios and Gallery in Greenville, SC.

"Just Peachy"
6x6 oil on panel
$150 plus shipping
I haven't been posting much lately. We've been out of town and when home, I have been busy painting commissions. So far I have three finished, five more to go. I don't want to post the completed ones until the owners see them first.
I did do this little peach for fun the other day and hope to do more little ones because I enjoy doing them so much.

I love painting on my deck on these summer mornings. I should be in the studio working on larger paintings and some commissions, but, my flowers are gorgeous right now, and I need to paint them. I spend a couple of hours painting out there before it gets too hot and then I'm happy to get in the air conditioning and work on other things.
